Mae hiliaeth yn fyw. Mae fy mhrosiect yn canolbwyntio ar yr alarch – trosiad am harddwch y byd sydd o’n hamgylch – gyda neges iasol y realiti yn dilyn yr ymgyrch ddiweddar – ‘Black Lives Matter’. Dyfrlliw yw’r hyn rwyf wedi’i ddefnyddio’n bennaf yn fy ngwaith paentio, felly mi wnes i gamu oddi wrth yr hyn sy’n fy ngwneud i’n fwyaf cyfforddus a phenderfynu arbrofi gydag inc a phen trochi. Mae’n ddull therapiwtig iawn oherwydd gallwch glywed sŵn crafu’r pen inc ar y papur. Mae’n rhoi cyfle i mi fyfyrio a meddwl am fy ngwerthoedd fy hun, sut i newid y drefn neu sut i helpu. Rwy’n mwynhau gwneud hyn allan yn yr awyr agored, yng nghanol natur lle mae hi’n dawel ac yn heddychol. Mae’n rhoi cyfle i mi atgoffa fy hun bod harddwch gwirioneddol yn dal i fodoli, ond rhaid bod yn barod i chwilio amdano.

Racism is alive. My project focuses on the beauty of the swan, a metaphor for the beauty of the world around us, with a chilling message of the reality following the recent Black Lives Matter movement. Having used mostly watercolour, I stepped outside my comfort zone and decided to use a messier ink and dip pen to create some ink paintings. It’s a very therapeutic method because you can hear the scratchy sounds of the dip pen on the paper, it allows me the opportunity to reflect and think about my own values and ways in which you can make a change or how you can just help. I enjoy doing this out in the environment, in nature where its quiet and peaceful. It gives me the opportunity to remind myself that real beauty still exists, if you remember to look out for it.
